I think you have a few options: 1) Remove the fish to a bucket , or a quarantine tank iwould be even better. Treat the fish with copper there. Those parasites in the main tank will die without a host (fish) there in a few days. When the fish are cured, replace them back to the main tank. 2) Add copper directly to the main tank, if you do not have a quarantine tank. However, copper is toxic to invertebrate. They would probably die. But you can save your fish. 3) Remove the invetebrate before adding copper to the main tank. Keep them temperory in another bucket or tank. When the fish are cured, change water to remove copper. However no matter what you do, there may still be some residual copper in your main tank. Such low level of copper is still toxic to your invertebrate. What method you choose depends on your focus of interest, whether you want to keep the fish or the invertebrate primarily. |
