i buy a new o3 gen. pls give me comment.

1 于 2003-12-25 11:50        hi, LC and other friends, i buy a new Sander 03 gen. 50mg, orp controler is SAGA.for 48" tank. 1, i set 03 gen. connect to skimmer, out water put in sump tank (second section). pls give me comment. 2, when 03 gen. start, will smell some unlike smell from the skimmer top, it is normal condition?????? 3, so i put carbon on the skimmer top, can remove the unlike smell la, it is true method???? 4, the "tai po chiu" women box tell me every date the orp can rise 8-10 when open 03. it is right??? first date, my orp reading is 188, next date now the reading is 300 la, it is normal???? sorry, sorry, i ask many question in one time, thank you in advance.

4 于 2003-12-26 07:16      Congratulations! You will soon find that O3 generator is one of the most useful equipment that you have purchased for keeping fish. 1. It is correct that O3 is connected to the skimmer. Such arrangement will provide longer reaction time between O3 and tank water. 2&3. The smell of O3 is similar to household bleach. Placing active carbon at skimmer top as well as at the water outlet of the skimmer can remove residual O3. 4. ORP will rise gradually upon using O3. The time required to reach desired value depends on the concentration of O3, the original value of the tank water and the volume of the water. It takes one day for my 48' tank to rise from 250 to 400. One question to you: How much is this new version of O3 generator of Sander?

5 于 2003-12-26 12:03        hi LC thx a lot. o3 gen.c50- $1000,c100-$1200 saga controler-$1050 (total discount -$100.) and i ask one more, why i clean the "mud" at tank glass and feed the fish, the orp will drop from 300 to 250, so large range, it is ok???? thx thx!

6 于 2003-12-26 12:29      It is absolutely normal of your ORP meter that it drops from 300 to 250 upon feeding or cleaning your tank glass. ORP measures the cleaning power of your tank water. Feeding and cleaning the glass is the same as adding dirt to your tank, and therefore ORP drops.

8 于 2003-12-29 18:46      It is noraml that ORP will drop to around 200 if O3 generator is turn off. ORP of my tank will drop to about 250 within one day if I turn off the O3 generator.
