48 于 2004-07-02 23:11      Finished upgrading the refugium from an AquaClear 200 to a kick-ass custom made one. With my heater inside the refugium and a new surface skimmer sucking up the surface scum, this thing is great!

52 于 2004-07-03 12:12      冇水冷, I use a CPU fan for cooling. I am using fan and heater to keep the temp between 27 and 29 degree. But in a hot afternoon, the temp will go over 30. I don't think high temp will necessarily kill corals. The temp accelerate things in the tank. Corals and invertebrates grow faster and better. But on the other side of the coin, if you make a mistake in the tank, the mistake will be exaggerated.

54 于 2004-07-04 00:15      Ahchung，哇第一個post給了我，好開心，歡迎你。 我的缸內沒有太多需要餵的珊瑚，太陽花是用一般的平魚糧。我有用DT餵蚌，我相信其牠大部份珊瑚都不會直接食DT，但它提供食物鏈的基層，令到缸內有很多有益的小生物。除蚌外，海綿、管蟲及那些SPS都是靠它了。 DT是非常貴的綠水，但一般自養的綠水有很多肥料，只有用它。我的缸小，一小瓶DT可用4個月，所以還好。在友網看到有一種叫Liquid Life的綠水將在香港有得買，可惜魚街還末有。在外國的網說它跟DT一樣好一樣貴，但比DT濃縮很多很多，所以計落平很多。希望快些有貨。 我就只有餵這兩種東西而己，每個月連餵魚，伙食約$40(DT佔其中的$30)。但用PL管可以養蚌，$30 ok lar。

57 于 2004-07-04 13:53      Hi Jay, Thanks for the compliment. See the pic for a surface skimmer ($38), it can be connected to an AquaClear HOB filter. I don't think an AC150 is larger enough. If I were you, I'd buy an AC300. Take out the filter material and the grep tray, add some sand, some live rock rubble, a handful of macro algae and a clip on light. You will be amazed how much little critters will live in there. My sun coral and clowns get a very good meal when those critters are blown into the main tank. Harvest the algae and you are harvesting PO4 and NO3 out of your tank! The only problem is - the flow is too large in an AC300. But you have an AC150, you can swap the impellers. Use both HOBs, the AC300 as refugium, the AC150 to create flow in the main tank and put a bag of carbon in there too. Perfect! PS. I think chiller is a great equipment, I just think setting it to 25 degree is wrong. 28 degree is more like it. If I have the space for a chiller, I will definitely use HQI and chiller, and turn my tank into an SPS nano.

59 于 2004-07-04 21:31      謝謝您。 我是首次養珊瑚的。我住在將軍澳，之前用海水開缸(16吋)，加入在海中捉的野小蝦(八隻)和野小魚(三十多條玻璃魚毛和三條比較大的)。二至三日換三份一水。巳有兩星期，只有三隻死蝦。昨天買了一個脑珊瑚。 我有兩條問題想請教1)我看到小蝦伏在脑珊瑚上好像食什麼似的。野小蝦會否食珊瑚?(2)我從幻之終極真姚俊知道可以用蝦碎餵珊瑚。我可否用蝦乾碎餵?如果可以有否須要加綠水?因為我又從別的地方知道海水有很多微量元素...
