Waterman¥S,
my sand bag is about 1.5" to 2" only.......but i think it's full of live gar ^.^ BTW, i think crushed coral sand is very important in RT as it can provide buffer and increase the Ca level a lot and promote the growth of coralline algae~~~!

Alice_hamster,
The ¥ÛºÞ¦ä is from ¤jûÑ¿¼, i bought it with my GF ar and it costs me $180. The clam is around 3"-3.5" big......i wil take another pic for you later ^.6

Waterman,
I had also read some articles saying that the sand bed need to be 4" thick at least..........but from the experience of my previous tank, i think that about 2" is enough because the sand bed of my previous tank is about 2.5" thick and when i clear the tank and set up this tank, i found that some of the sand is in black colour (deprived of oxygen) and there is a very noxious smell from it. therefore, i think 2" sand bed is enough for creating "low oxygen" zone. ^.^

chinchiu,
seems you're starting to develop your tank.
What fish you have now?

I also saw the ¤jûÑ¿¼ selling some clams
150 for each, buy 2 get 1 free
so that's 100 for each

Hi chiuchiu,

Does your clam response quickly when you block the light? From the last photo, it seems that the clam is gaping.

I believe it is a T. Crocea which is the most light demanding sp. I am not an expert but I think, with your lighting, placing it on the sand bed is not bright enough for it.

You may want to feed it with phytoplankton too.

bseeto ¥S,
I am not sure about the sp. of the clam, i am just a junior in reef keeping ^.^ The clam response quickly to blocking of light gar......i think the clam is still doing well rite now(not sure about the future) as it also got light from natural sunlight as it is close to the window ^.^........i will move it up if it looks unhealth ^.^........i like clams on the floor ga, more natural
