swu 文章: 154	1 于 2002-05-06 22:12      I have ordered a tank with size 40"W x 20"D x 30"H and the shopkeeper told me that I can use Iwaki Pump 30RX for the water filtration. He told me that 40RX is too powerful and not recommended to use for this size of tank. Can anyone give me an advice for this?

4 于 2002-05-06 23:44      I would like to connect the UV light from the outlet of the pump. I am afraid the 30RX may have a problem if I install it with the UV light. However, the shopkeeper told me that 40RX may burn out because the tank volume is not big enough to cater the capacity for this model. Can anyone give me an advice on this case?

7 于 2002-05-07 09:23      "Pa Long". Since the price difference is not significant, I think I will consider to use the 40RX instead of 30RX.

13 于 2002-05-10 12:37      If I want to install a UV light, UV light should connect after the Iwaki pump or just use a power head to drive the UV light circulation within the chamber. First method is ensure all the water back to the main tank must pass through the UV light. Second method is only for certain portion of water pass through the UV light. However, the maintenance work is more easy to provide. Can anyone advice which method is more preferrable.

14 于 2002-05-10 13:04      swu, If you use the first method, I think you need to use a more powerful UV, said 25W, to deal with the great water flow. I adopt the second method and use a 15W one since when I add the UV, my tank's piping had already been set up. It is troublesome to use the first method for me and "ah lok" from Rivulet advised me to adopt the second method. 養魚係一個贏贏的遊戲---a Win-Win game. 15 于 2002-05-10 14:29      Kenny. I believe you must have a valve to control the water flow for the circulation. Where you place it? Before or after the Iwaki pump (or maybe both side)? Someone said that they need to dismantle the pump to clean up the salt if the pump is getting some noise. If no valve control before the pump, dismantle the pump may cause flooding. If only one valve before the pump, the pressure maybe to strong and burn out the pump. This is just my logical thinking only. Please share your experience for me. Thanks.
