水域互助社 & 耐人: Sorry for not being able to write in Chinese. Good to hear that 水域 will be able to import some Florida Ricordeas for fellow HK reefers. As I have stated before, I am an owner of a store in the U.S. that carries a huge selection/inventory of Florida Ricordeas and I am not concerned about who bought the ones in my display tank so that will not the issue. Even if the ones that are being shipped to HK are from my display tank, I WILL NOT identify them as such. What I will identify is whether the Ricordeas were cut or not as that was the real issue of discussion. Florida Ricordeas can be proprogated by slicing/cutting, especially between multiple mouths on a single polyp but they need sufficient time to heal, in order form a round/normal polyp. The way Ricordeas are sold at my store is $15 USD/polyp. Sometimes, there are multiple mouths on a single polyp and that usually still count as one polyp unless the polyp happens to be over 2" (inches) in length. If the polyp over 2" (inches) in length, then each 1" (inch) segment should be counted as ONE POLYP. This is not always the case as customers usually like to argue and bargain down the number of polyps but this is the general rule in counting actual Ricordea polyps. Sometimes the polyp can be as over 5" (inches) long and have over 10 mouths while still intact as one big polyp. The reason why nice Florida Ricordeas are expensive and not as abundant as other mushrooms is because they are very hard to find in the rare/exotic color morphs that includes: orange, blue, peach, and any other shade/mixture of orange. Most of the common ones come in some form of green or other dull colors. The ones that contain 1-3 polyps (also known/sold as loose polyps) on a small tiny piece of rock are more readily available but that will take some work in order to secure it on a larger piece of rock or else they will get blown away and lost in your reef rockwork. The hardest ones to find are the nice colors and full colonies on a nice sized piece of rock, not just loose polyps. Florida Ricordeas are not as easily proprogated as regular mushrooms. Yes, they can be cut but the healing time is a lot longer and they don't handle the stress as well as other mushrooms. The concern going on was that the ones bought from my display tank would be cut into individual mouths to make more money so I will only be taking a look to see if the Ricordeas have been cut. Whether they were from my display tank or not is irrelevant. Everyone is welcome to buy my Ricordeas and what they do with them is really none of my business. I do appreciate the opportunity from 水域 to see if the Ricordeas have been cut or not. I think that means a lot to fellow HK reefers to ensure that they are getting what they paid for. 水域 really does not have to go out of their way to do this so this shows they are responsible and willing to stand behind their product. I hope everyone can appreciate what 水域 is doing. I hope to be able to clear up all the rumors and assumptions that have been floating around the HK reef boards concerning Florida Ricordeas and will let everyone know my findings/results after I see the posted pictures from 水域. Best Regards, GBA |
