I think your water is leak of trace and vatimins for fishes. Fish color do fade a bit after some time that keep in the tank but your case is quite interesting ! I would said that may be you can try to change water more often and add more trace and vatimins into the tank as to compensate for your extremely powerful skimmer from Cor@l Design.

I get this conclusion when I was in depth thinking about your blue and I saw a guy with a book about RNA and DNA changes in the MTR so I read with him and find out the answer for your blue !!!!
