4 于 2002-02-20 14:38      Rayemail, Are the 2 skimmers operate under the same condition? That is, the same period, the same quality of water, same fish loading? For the Jetskim, I agree that it's quite powerful. However, I doubt if the same quantity of skimmate will be collected for another 6 days 'cos this will indicate that the water is quite dirty or overfed. One more question, will a powerful skimmer also remove the yellowish water?

Maybe I'd say to compare the skimmate of 2 tanks with similar setup/loading as it's hard for us to compare 2 identical tanks - we are not the manufacturers!

6 于 2002-02-20 17:40      Rayemail, Thanks for your understanding and sorry that I only know Canton 拼音 thus I can't tolerate typing Chinese Yes, it will be nice if there's somewhere in the website that we can rate for different brands of skimmer with some useful data such as price, tank size, skimmate quality, ease of use, etc. such that we can compare beforehand. It's always a gambling when we buy stuffs from fish street, especially when we don't have much information about the products.

But I think we'd like to have our own polling/rating 'cos you know that the culture of keeping fish in HK is different from that in other places of the world. Moreover, some equipment are not available in HK while some are only found in Asia (such as Azoo).

14 于 2002-02-21 14:51      To make the polling result meaningful and helpful to others, i suggest including both factual information (such as picture, type of skimmer (e.g. air cork/motor driven), installation (e.g. hang outside/inside/hang on etc.), suitable for tank volume, etc.) plus some user feedback (e.g. ease of use, skimmate quality, any micro-bubbles, etc.). This will be useful for one of us when considering a new skimmer.
