Protein Skimmer for UGF

1 于 2003-12-01 17:41      Hi, I have a 30x15x20 FOT with a UGF. I'm now considering to buy a new protein skimmer as my old one is not very effective. I have shortlisted two protein skimmers. One is named "Priz Skimmer" by Red Sea which costs around $650. Another one is called "Tube" made in Germany and it costs around $750 for the cheapest model. Could you please advise which one is better? Also, for the size of my tank, do you think it's necessary to have an air pump placed in my UGF to provide oxygen for my fishes? Many thanks for your advice.

3 于 2003-12-02 09:56      兩年前ｐｒｉｚｍ屬於不錯選擇，主要因為細部（當時最細）耗電少．不過ｐｒｉｚｍ表現不太穩定，易都比較嘈． ｐｒｉｚｍ同級有ｖｉａａｑｕａ（＄５００）可以考慮．近日有網友談及ｖｉａａｑｕａ的那隻ｓｋｉｍｍｅｒ． 經濟抵用易有ｗｅｉｐｒｏ（通處都有得賣）同埋ｍａｃｒｏ（連加，科技，川河）． 你可以參考　Protein Skimmer ◇化氮器材◇

4 于 2003-12-02 10:21        prizm的確外型美觀靚仔.. 但同一般靚仔都係一樣.. 得個樣架咋.. 我都用過一段時間.. 真係欠佳.. 如果比到六百五.. 就其實仲有好多選擇.. 不過講到有冇位放既話.. 就冇乜得諗.. 但記住如果你個缸有擔既話.. 就要再度度放唔放得落.. 掛唔掛得到支野.. 問題或承受過 不相信拋下過 最後決定一雙肩膊別太肩膊 三十一畫：此數大吉，名利雙收，漸進向上，大業成就。（吉）

6 于 2003-12-02 11:54      Thanks for your advice. But have you heard of another Germany brand called "Tube"? It seems this one is more professional and suitable for FOT with UGF. Also, could you please advise if I need to have an air pump placed in the UGF to make sure there is sufficient oxygen in my fish tank. My tank size is 40x20x30. Many thanks
