hi all

i formerly used PL light for my FOT
spec. as follows:
- 36" PML PL
- 24W * 2 (each of Blue & white color)
- $4xx (including PL tube)
- $70 for single 24W tube

i just bought the T5 last week

spec as follows:

- 35" frame
- 39W T5 * 2
(narva :blue; osram: daylight)
- $7xx
- aluminium reflector * 2

photos show the tank lighted with the newly bought T5

just my comments fyi

1. light penetration power is much better, i am particularly fond of
the "blue" effect "shine" on the fishs.
the sandbed is "whiter".
however, i think i would prefer Axxx rather the Osram when
i replace the daylight tube in future. the reason is Osram daylight
is somewhat too yellowish.(though i know 6500K is yellowish beforehand)

i would prefer a little reddish tone in " FOT)

2. the adapter is "cooler" than that of PL light. the difference is obvious after the
light is switched on half an hour.

3. overall weight is lighter than PL
4. the price, T5($7xx) as compared with PL($4xx) is expensive.
(tube: T5:$1xx ; PL: $70)
IMO, it worhs
the overall pleasant, attractive looking of the tank pay the bill

btw, the 燈"敢" becomes redundant
and would be grateful to pass to other hobbyists who find it is useful FREE
(provided that the pick-up is arranged in Tze Wan Shan)

Jay, do you mean the whole set of T5 is $7xx? where did you buy from? Or, do you use the old light frame with modification?

Is it true that the Blue tube & white tube turn on & off together?

Is the brightness enough for using only two tubes of T5?

Are yours T5 or T5HO?
