Recently, I've bought a CL 280. I find that the chiller can only bring the temperature from 25.9 to 25.5 oC (down 0.4 oC only), when I set the temperture to 24 oC.

I'm wondering why the chiller can only bring the temperature down 0.4oC, instead of 1oC (The LCD of chiller shows that the temperature is already 24oC).

My pump has pump rate of 2800 per hr. The cooling cycle is too short. The chiller switches on frequently.

Please advise. Thanks.

FYI. My tank has about 80L.

I also have this situation. I also using CL280 about 100L tank.
I think it is normal. The reading of the temperature sensor inside the cooler is different from the tanks. Coz the cooler sensor is so near the cold source. therefore when the cooler sensor reach 24 degree. The actual water temperature normally haven't reach 24 degree yet. Also have other effect affect this result.

About the Cooling cycle, coz your tank is 80L. But this chiller is for 300L max, so it can easy make your tank reach the target temp. Therefore, the chiller switches on frequently.

Thanks for your info. May I know how long the cooling time is and the chiller wait and then switch on?

My cooling time= 5-10min (set 24oC, down from 25.7oC to 25.3oC)
Switch off/on time= 20 min

Can you share your result?

等我又Share 一下先:
水量:170L
照明: 150W HQI , T5HO X4, 13W PL for Sump
泵: Eden 214 X2 造流, Eheim 1250 For Skimmer, Atman1200L桶推水冷同去Sump
Set Temp. : 25C
Cooling Time : 15-20Mins. (25.9-25.5)
Switch off/on time: 10-15Mins. when light on, 20-30Mins. when light off

cooling time = 5-8mins (sets 23C, Tank Temp. 24.2C-24.5C)
Switch on/off time = 25-30mins

Can anyone share the result of the other chillers?

The chiller can only bring the temperature down by 0.4oC. Is it a normal case for all chillers?

Did u calibrate the build-in temp sensor inside the chiller? my case, I am using CL650, if I use slow pump to push it, the tank real temp always higher then the temp iside 鈦砲chamber. And it will switch on and off very fast like u guys.

So I have to set it on at 32C to test the temp different of outside and inside, I run it few hours to let the temp steady (coz I set it to 32C so it never switch on). Then I found the temp different is 2C

. Knowing the reason then I calibrated it -2C then run again and sems the temp is same.

Then I use a weak pump again and same problem coz the chiller cooled the water too fast inside chamber and not fast enough to come out to cool down the tank water, so inside temp too low and auto stop.

but when I use a 2000L pump then it now works prefect, 30 mins for 1C, on for hour to lower 2C then stop for 2-3 hours.

Thanks for you info. I'm a new user of chiller.

I've already calibrated the temp by -2oC. But I find that the chiller can cool down the water from 25.9 to 25.4oC, instead of -1oC.

My pump is 2800l/hr. Having commented by some fans, it seems that it is a normal case, since the sensor is inside the chiller and the water is cooled down more rapidly than the tank.............. ??
