Hi iman,

"DI 珠" is deionization resin. In aquarium application, it is usually used to filter tap water that is used for replenishing fresh water evaporated from aquariums, as well as for mixing with artificial salt to make water change.

DI resin is very good at filtering out excessive chemical ions in tap water, such as silicate ions, P ions (phosphorus), and many other chemical elements that is not good if exist in large amount.

I use DI resin in conjunction with sediment cotton and activated carbon to filter tap water before using it for my aquarium. The U.S. made DI resin I use is cheaper than all DI resin that can be found in fs or anywhere else mostly found in the street. When using DI resin, there will be no problem of (diatom) brown algae in our tank, plus less problems caused by high level of heavy metals.

In my view, DI is a must for marine aquarium.
