1 于 2003-03-01 12:00      I’ve set-up a new 40X24X24 tank last week and put 3 魔 in my tank for the nitrogen-cycle to prevent the”new tank sydrome”. However when I visited the same shop yesterday the keeper persuade me to get few more fishes(魔) for my 40” tank. He said merely 3 fishes won’t be able to provide enough food (屎) for the healty-bacteria to set-up the efficiency cycling……….Does what ‘d he say is true? Should I get few more fishes? 3 fishes not enough? Thank for help ^-^ !!

2 于 2003-03-01 12:13      3條同10條.....10條可以有多D NH3/NH4產生.......個N-cycle可能會快D完成.... 但可能因沒有足夠的硝化細菌....令魚兒死亡......結果可能得返1-2條...甚至全軍覆沒.. 開缸最重要是等欲速則不達..... 詳情可以看下D old post..... 祝     開缸順利.... 日出日落自然事 別見夕陽嘆暮遲 盛衰本來有交替 夕去朝來總有時........

4 于 2003-03-01 13:41      I agree with yinchai. It appears to me that the limiting step in the establishment of the N-cycle is time, which takes about 8 weeks. More fish and more bioload will make the peak level of NH3 and NO2 higher but will not fasten the completion of the N-cycle. Keep less fish in the beginning should be better.
