Today i make 3 diffent PH buffer in new salt water,the result are...
step 1)new water + salt = PH 8.1 , KH 7dkh (good)
step 2)newwater + salt + seachem buffer =PH8.3 , KH 27dkhc(higher)
step 3)newwater + salt + waterlife buffer =PH8.3 ,KH 26dkh(higher)
step 4)newwater + salt + china buffer =PH 8.3 ,KH 28dkh(higher)

The normal kh is 5-12 dkh ask in JBL manual

How can we solve the Problem?

Too high KH in salt tanK will make fish dead?

I also have friend are also have this reading,why?

Anybody can help,Thank You.

乜pH-buffer都會令kH升高的嗎？不是只有kH-buffer才會嗎？

另聽講話水質穩定劑可降低番kH，但唔知係真定係假！！

To:cyc
yesterday:i go to MongKok to ask some shop,the normal ans are same
change water,no liquid can solve.
I go to 卡奇,they ask me to use (Tetra Aqua Safe soft 水 liquid),
1 Buy one bottle,they say it can low down some hard water.I add to tank
Today,2 籃文 are 蒙眼 again,which buy about a week
Thank You,anybody help??????

My tank is 36"x18"x33" upper tank with 底喉架&3"珊瑚骨+2"沙
& 22"x19"x14" lower sand tank(即是滴漏tank)
What are the problem?

Reef tank..即珊瑚缸....而FO=Fish Only Tank(只養魚無珊瑚)

step 1)new water + salt = PH 8.1 , KH 7dkh (good)
step 2)newwater + salt + seachem buffer =PH8.3 , KH 27dkhc(higher)
step 3)newwater + salt + waterlife buffer =PH8.3 ,KH 26dkh(higher)
step 4)newwater + salt + china buffer =PH 8.3 ,KH 28dkh(higher)
為何你開出來的水加buffer...新開的水入邊其實已有足夠kh這樣又加buffer..咁test出來的水一定高kh...你就咁用step2,3,4(加buffer)的水加入缸一定令到主缸kh遇高了..你就只用step1..不加任何buffer..問題應可解決...
如主缸仍是高kh的話..你用step1的方式(記住不好加buffer)只有用最原始的方法...隔天換水(約1/4-1/3)應可解決kh高的問題...直到kh回到正常水平

p.s..其實ph-buffer是可以令到kh上升的...咁kh上升了...而正常海水亦多在ph8以上,故kh穩定了後..ph多是回到正常..即ph8或以上..

Hi Ricky:
Your idea is right,
But I forget to say my tank PH will drop down everyday about 0.1-0.2PH
If I change water any a week,The last day before i change the PH will be
drop down to PH 7.8 level,it will be very dangerous.
If i change 20% water for everyday,it will be OK
But it will be easy lost Bac.is it?
Today measuring are PH8.0 on morning,KH are 24dkh(still higher)
yesterday i change 20% of water.

其實你個ph=7.8也不是危險...因為ph在夜問(關了燈後)一定會有跌的..正常的ph是可以在7.8-8.4之間..而你只是0.1-0.2的上下幅度是正常...
而你現在的kh都算高...你就隔天換水直到kh回到正常(記住新開的水不用加其他buffer)

I have same problem as U that the ph drop every day. But after I change the sailt (bio-sea), the PH can keep in 8.36-8.43.

I think salt will affect the PH

Try Try change the salt

Firstly,Thank you for your idea.
Now, i used are AB salt to open the tank,
are you use the bio-sea salt,can hold PH to 8.3 without use buffer?

To edmandyp:
1)Today I buy the new salt(bio-sea) in Mongkok,I will change 25% of tank
   water first,without use the buffer(before measure PH are 8.12)(KH 17dkh)
   I will change again two days later,and report to you,thank you.

2)Do you Know higher KH will make the fish unclear-eye ?the fish are still
   eat food and the colour no change?
