| I am sure many of you would have heard of the name J Charles Delbeek, esp. the ones who keep a reef tank. This link http://reefs.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=18226&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 will put you to another forum and will show you some pics. of the excellent reef tank that Charles set up. Pls. browse thru the 2 pages if you have time. Food for thought: 1) I reckon the Western do have a very different attitude compared with us, they do treasure a lot more about the well being of their marine fish and their LIFE instead of just having fun ourselves. (eg. the life of the T. clams, double saddle butterfly and yellow tang) 2) They consider a lot more about ecosystem and equilibrium or 'artificial nature' if you like I'd love to have something like this in our Ocean Park and educate our youth to learn to treasure our ocean more. I know we've killed a lot of fishes throughout the years, well at least I have if you don't want to admit that. But I do think that a lot of the mistakes being made by the new comers are totally avoidable if we ask more and seek more information before acting. Also, if we at least have the patience to have a properly cycled tank first, a lot of LIVES could have been saved. Let's save the ocean and our WALLET, just look at the weather and you will know what we've done to the Earth, why no typhoon in HKG this year? Is it a good sign? Sorry for preaching again and thx. a lot if you have spent your precious time and read thru. the whole thread. Cheers, Fred |
