| Hi all, For those of you who would like to learn more about how to deal with different marine fish disease, the Oct issue of "Aquarium Fish Magazine" may be your choice. It covers nearly all common marine parasites, namely, ich, uronema marinum, anemonefish disease, velvet and flukes. It also talks about the pros and cons of using copper and how to set up a quarantine tank effectively. A good news for those who advocate hyposalinity treatment, the article claims that all the abovementioned parasites but velvet can be cured by hyposalinity (1.010) while fresh water dip (NOT hyposalinity) may help to drop of some parasites for velvet and the only cure for velvet is copper. Sounds like the article is written by clowntang? It is not, it's written by Scott W. Michael and I highly recommend this issue for those of you who would like to try out reading aquarium fish magazine. It is not exclusively for marine fish though; It covers fresh water fish and pond fish as well but I reckon, around 40-50% of it is about marine fish, so it's not too bad. Disclaimer: I really have nothing to do with this magazine and I just want to share my opinion with you fellows, pls. make up your own mind. This is the link to subscribe the mag but I'd suggest you to buy only one issue and try it out first. http://www.aquariumfish.com/fish/ |
