Help! Water leakage again & again!

1 于 2002-07-06 09:31      Dear all, Could you pls help! I just finished my 45" FOT (with sump) pipework connection two days ago. When I got my system in operation, water leakage was observed, mainly at the two holes passing through by the drain and return pipes. For your information, I have sandwiched the holes between two gaskets but it seems to be useless. As I have already had the pipework fixed in position, I am no longer able to dis-assemble the pipework now. God......! I stayed calm..... followed by turning off the pumping system and tried to fix it by using "Gladd rubber". However, as some "hidden" place is "unreachable", I am not sure if the holes were completely sealed off by "glass rubber". Anyway, I have waited for another two days for allowing the "glass rubber" to dry thoroughly. This morning, I turned on the pumping system, water leakage sustains. I collapsed...eventually! Could you guys help? It doesn't drive me crazy!! Ken2288

2 于 2002-07-06 10:13          我都係o向最近自己加裝個滴漏系統, 初初同你一樣, o向個上落水位有漏水現象, 我發覺只係個內外牙o侯唔夠實, 我最後只o向一邊加膠圈, 另一邊用玻璃膠. 落水我用40mm, 回水就20mm, 40mm內外牙一定夠長, 但20mm既牙用o向3分玻璃通常都係moun moun 夠.

3 于 2002-07-06 12:44      Thanks White Bear, It seems hopeless but to dis-assemble the entire pipework. Apart from that approach, I wonder if there is any pwerful silicone gel (other than Glass Rubber) that can seal off the holes tightly and dry fast. Ken2288

4 于 2002-07-06 23:11          你有無check 過個缸底個孔會唔會開得太大哩? 如果你可以搵度 silicone既膠圈我想會有好好效果.

5 于 2002-07-07 10:17      The gaskets fit perfectly the holes. What I did wrong before, I believe, was not screw them tightly enough, leading to gaps between the glass and gaskets. Yesterday, I made up my mind to dismantle the drain pipe. This allows more space for me to do something for the return pipe. I removed all the orginal "Glass rubble", dried all surfaces and re-applied tons of "Glass rubber to seal it off. For the drain pipe, I will do the same as yours, using "Glass rubber" on both sides of the glass. Let's see the result today! God bless me!
