Hi there
I do not remember the cost of the skimmer and pump but you could check it out at Aquatech (I did not buy from them though).
Skimmer is on from 8am till 2am, will change to 9am till 1pm in summer time. Probably will go for skimless in the other 3 months or so... Let me know if any of you would like to buy a 2nd hand high end skimmer for a very good price 
I'm using a IKS auqastar aquarium computer and it does hook up with the doser for foods and chemicals as well as lighting, pumps.....etc. It could be attached to the PC and keep records of pH, temp, conductivity...etc.
I'm using 2 (one very large one) Ca Recators, large one fill with crush coral and 1/10 pure Ca for the "First stage" & small one for "Second stage" with pure Ca. I add second stage to burn up those left over CO2 from the first stage. Will add a "Nilsen" Reactor soon to stablize the pH at night time due to strong lighting in day time. My ph swings between 7.7- 8.1. Very bad!!
Tank is quite new and needs time to stablize, I guess.
