update: when most of the eggs turn white, the mother let the gravels and marbles crord around the eggs, that means she abandoned the eggs/nest, 2-3 days later, the eggs are all gone, don't know whether they are eaten by mother or other fish, still 2 days later, there is a even bigger volcano forming in the tank, I don't know whether the mother is trying to lay the 2nd round of eggs pls advice whether I should buy a male, if yes, how many and what size? I know that pro fishkeeper can breead peacocks, discus, and moons at their tank, anybody breed parrots? pls share the experience I think I should remove the marbles as they make the mother's nest building task very difficult. The marbles keep rolling into the volcano so the mother has to push them away again and again If you have keep parrots before and have a sand bed, you will know that parrots use much effort to build a volcano, years ago I've seen a parrot tank at fs that have 4-5 inch gravel bed changed to a perfect volcano by parrot. now I have only 1 inch gravel, can't show you the beauty and greatness of a big volcano (previously I hace 2-3 inch gravel)
