Edmund, I used to use flush water for my mini RT and the creatures lived happily. I haven't detected any copper or NO2/NO3 in the water, but the ph was very low (~7.7) and I needed adding ph buffer everytime. I believe the quality of flush water depends on 1) the location of your home as it determines from which part of the sea the water is pumped, and 2) the hygiene condition of your building's water tank. One of my friend's uncle uses flush water for his 6' tank but he pretreats the water with ozone in UV, which means extra effort and space are required. I choose flush water because 1) I heard that fresh sea water may contain some live organizms which are the food for corals, and 2) I only keep one or 2 small fishes in the tank and fear not infected by white spots. So you have to answer yourself these few questions before you proceed using flush water or not.
