I also have a same concern. However, I ready don't want to use 滴漏槽 because my tank is very small (24" x 24" x 22"). In my original plan, I want to use 2 individual pipes for upflow and downflow without 滴漏槽. But, in this case, I have 2 chances to have that big problem and will be killed by my wife. Therefore, I want to set up 同軸上落. I am planning to not only use 日本牙咀 and 美國膠皮做墊圈, but also use epoxy to cover all joints. The epoxy I am talking about is similar to the epoxy that used in the water pump. I will setup a DSB and these epoxy will be covered by DSB.

Right now, the most critial problem is I cannot find the 同軸上落 part. I may need to DIY it but it causes another risk as well.
