Fishes belong to the same species but from different geographic area does have some kind of distinctive characteristic. Some of vary in color, while others have a completely different diet. Therefore, some similar species of fish are more easy to keep than the others. Taken the Regal angel fish for an example. We have a Regal mostly from Philipine, and a Golden Regal from Red sea etc. The colors of the two fish are different and some saying the Golden Regal are far more easy to keep (NOT FROM MY EXPERIENCE). Perhaps the catching & handling method bewteen the indo-Pacific and the Middle east are different causing the Golden Regal is more easy to keep for longer time or the geographic area causing the two fishes have different diet to adopt their envoriment. Again, most ppl saying the U.S. fish better, as per Mr. Fong mentioned that the catching and handling is better, thus the quality of fish and their survive rate is higher.
