Sorry for the late reply! The Denimax has a chinese instruction within each box and teach you how to use it. But basically, it is easy to use, just place it in the sand with about 3 cm in depth. I choose areas within my sand bed with small flow of water.
The de-nitrate bacteria grows within a week and u will found some white jelly like life form (believed to be the bacteria). It also turn the nearby sand in black color. But it is safe. The fish eat them sometimes. Very very easy to use especially for the new tank setup. Such development of de-nitrate bacteria within a sand bed normally take 6 months from start to complete. The Denimax can speed up the process. Never the less, I still suggest to change certain amount of water per regular period.
