The problem is all LPSs do not open well (豬腰, sun flower and giant clam. For soft coral like finger-leather, 草皮, purple tip anemones grow very well. Below is my tank's parameters: Volume: 400L (40"W 26"H) Temp: 26-27 NO3: 5ppm PO4: 0.8ppm Ca: 450 KH: 10 pH: 8.3 Lighting: 6500K 39Wx2, Narva 39Wx2 (4" above water surface) Position: 豬腰 10" below water surface Clam: sand bed | |

Posted by: clownfish Posted on: 2003-07-23 08:46 all coral new new buy ???? if yes for sun flower u need to keep at low lighting area , and feed it by shrimp meat , after few dyas continue feeding will open very nice :D for others coral i am not sure how is it . but 豬腰 10" below water surface , Clam: sand bed , maybe to low lighting not so good nah. maybe u can try to place it at more higher location try try :P | |

Posted by: Wally Posted on: 2003-07-23 09:32 Clownfish, thanks for your advice. The clam has been kept for more than a month, 豬腰 and sun flower about 2 weeks. 豬腰 extend about 1cm from the skeleton. Sun flower open only on day 1. Fed with brine shrimp at day 1 and extended a lot. Then collapse until now. I changed to T5HO before I bought those LPS. I will try to re-install the MH (150W 10000K) and see what happen. | |

Posted by: clownfish Posted on: 2003-07-23 13:10 you r welcome :D i think u just keep on feeding the sunflower , it will open very nice and big. for my last time experinece after 4 days continue feeding. it open very big.and it will open at the similar time when u always feeding. i keep branch 豬腰 only. i place it at low curent and high lighting location. 3" below water level. lighting r 3" abow water . but i just use FL only. wish can help :D good luck. no experince with clam .just heard it need strong lighting also :P:P | |
