殺菌燈已成為養魚或珊瑚必備的器材之一。它的主要功能包括 :
1) 防止及消滅不必要藻類的生長讓水質清澈通透
2) 消滅水中細菌阻止魚病在魚缸內擴散

選擇殺菌燈必須孝慮因素 :

1) 紫外光管效能 - 市場上最好的應該是”菲利蒲” 在荷蘭制造的UV-C管
2) 紫外光管價格 - ”菲利蒲”16W $150, 25W$200, 55W$330特價發售予會員
3) 包住紫外光管的石英玻璃質量, 此點非常重要因為普通玻璃或石英玻璃的質數差將會革絕大部份UV嚴重影響功效。
4) 燈管的机械設計是否可以容許水流完全包圍整支管壁待殺菌後才回流到魚缸中
5) 安裝是否方便。這包括出/入水口是否可以旋轉調整不同的角度及有否提供固定支架。
6) 火牛要能防水, 不怕海水浸蝕, 附合安全標準, 散熱效果良好及提供足夠長度的電線以方便安裝。

Philips UV-C tube 25W is like a normal Floursent tube with two pins on each side.

Sure, there are also 6W and 8W available but I don't think it is very useful. Don't trust 100% the figure from manufacturer, it is better to get a powerful one ! However, if you don't have enough space to install it than it is another thing.
