Nebula,

Normally, in a shoal of female Anthias, there is only the one strongest female exchange it's sex and turn to male and leading & maintain the remains females within the shoal. All three turns to males from female is very rare. How many females Anthias left in your tank now? Do the males fight with each others?

All my female Anthias (Lori anthia, Evan anthia & purple anthia) which kept for some times and have not turn into male except the Lori is getting fairly aggressive towards the other two tank mates.

Wah, nebula you have 6 anthias. Don't they fight a lots. Mine does.Concerning the feeding, what kind of food do you feed on your anthias? I can only get mine to eat with frozen food.

Paulas, I also prefer female too. They are less aggressive.

The male ±mi¥P¤l from the picture is so lovely in color. I wonder how much does it cost? Any ideas? Anyone.......

Hi Paulus,

Unlike Nebula, I am not the big brother here but just a beginner for keeping this kind of fish ja. I have bought many of this fish before as they are colorful and small. Of Coz, I kill many too. The secret for sucessfully keeping this fish was REVEIWED IN YOUR MESSAGE above. That is no big fish or aggressive fishes allowed in the tank as tank mates.

I used to be an angels lover like many with lots of large & small angels in tank and found, it is very difficult to accomodate any other peacful fishes, I like.

It seems you have a large tank at your home. Any chances to clear it up and just keep a large shoal of different Anthias species in either a FOT or RT? I guess it would be very impressive. One thing, I don't understand is how Nebula kept this fish in RT without disease? The Anthia seems to catch ICK very easy and he can not use copper!!??

Dear Paulas,

U are right about the balancing on Cap & load within a system. There is nothing more than I agreed the effort input equal to return outcome. That is the reason that I gave up the RT many years ago. My opinion is

RT = Lots of $$$ + Lots of ¤ß¾÷
FOT = Less of $$ + Lots of ¤ß¾÷

Perhaps, I am wrong and depending on size of the establishment. After all, Size does matter. hehehe..........

Hi nebula,

Thanks for the advise, your comment are informative. Are you a Marine biologist? hehe....Bascially, I feed my anthias with all the food + vitamins additives as you descripted accept dry food & mysis shrimp as they all refuse to feed on it!!

Also, to prevent the ICK, I am practising their balance diet and control water quality using skimmer + UV (lower end version in compare w/yrs.) too. Therefore, I rarely had the disease broke out and the worse case is that I can dose a few amount of copper into my FOT.

If the ±mi¥P¤l is only a couple hundred dollars a pair, I think I will buy it too. It is so beautiful. But I never seen it available in FS. Even ¤é©ô often has some rare anthias available but still not this particular fish.

One thing, What is ´îÀ£¯g ?? U means the fish are took out from deep sea so fast without depressurize? ÁÂÁ½ç±Ð.
