If yes, pls advise how frequent I should change water and how much I should change with Thanks! I just got another new young black percula, but it also scratches very often. Should I buy garlic extreme to mix with fish food in order to help to fight itch. Pls kindly advise where to get garlic extreme and what is fresh water bath with Thousand Thanks! :( | |

Posted by: Kenny Posted on: 2002-11-12 13:25 Do you've the test kits of pH, NO2 and you check them frequently? Since your tank is new, the water is not stable. If you found your fishes have some strange action, just check these parameters first; if the result is ok, the problem may be on your own fishes or there is some other harmful material in your tank. If the problem is caused by the latter one, then, a water change is helpful. The % and frequency of water change is depended on the situation, hard to say a fixed figure. My record is taking 15% water change everyday continuously in about 20 days. "I just got another new young black percula, but it also scratches very often. The unclear eyes often represent the fish is surferring a series illness and should be exterminated at once. Pls noted this is different than "POPEYE" diease. Popeye can be recover, Milky eyes can throw away. Often, if u guys go to fish market to buy a fish to eat. U will seems a lot of fish like that. I never buy such fishes to keep or eat. After all, it hurts me to see my fish with white clouded eyes or it hurts my health by eating ones. I also found TDC is for harmful bacteria control only. It is no good for ICK. I have used 7 full bottles in months to control ICK's but failed. In the end, only few teaspoon of copper cure can wide out the ICK completely without re-infection for a long long time. But copper can damage the fish's liver that means also dangerous to fish too. Just dose it safely and it is only for FOT. | |

I did put those sick fishes with ICK into distilled water for fresh water bath, but they all got much more ICK on their body. Now my red tomato has ICK. I bought Sera's Cryptopur, which was recommeded by the fish supplement store in Mokok. Is that good? By the way, someone in the fish supplement store told me my fishes got ICK may be is because of unsteady tempeture. | |
