我想問波仔槽內的波仔應該用甚麼sized呢?
我想玩珊瑚是否不用生物環呢?

if you only 玩珊瑚,don't 用生物環lo...because will make No3 long long time too high:)...

Fishkingko,

Can you teach me more? I thought NO3 is a sort of end product of the nitrifying process. NH3>NO2>NO3. Providing you do not overfeed in a coral tank, if you have no problem of NH3, which is a by product of fish waste or un-consumed food, why would you have NO3? In other words, if the input is minimal (NH3), why does it matter if you have bioring or not?

應是硝化菌大量生在生物球上面，所以生物球會產生大量的no3，right?
但我覺得奇的是唔用生物球就無咁多no3，但唔係nh4呀，no2等的垃圾最後都會變成no3嗎？應該是用乜都好，有硝化菌的話，最後都會變成no3的，是嗎？
因為我認為會是這樣的，所以我個no3去除器的上部會有一個樽是裝生物球的，等後部的喉中有更多的no3比厭氧菌利用。

bio-ball 做野做得太快,而reef tank's LR & DSB can't handle this 效率~........所以唔用bio-ball~.................fishingko講少左中間果段jar`~...............我都留左好多冇講~懶得打~:P

I still don't quite get it, do u agree that NO3 is the least toxic chemical amongst NH3, NO2 and NO3. OK, let's assume we have a fixed amount of waste produced by unconsumed food, fish excreta. It will decompose into NH3>NO2>NO3 if the tank is cycled, right? So, if the source, the waste, is exhausted, there will be no NH3 and then no NO2 and NO3 la, so what's the problem of being a very effective converter? Of course, if there is a lot of waste, the source, you may find some ways to export them at the source or at the end, like protein skimmer or algae growth with frequent harvest.

Am I missing sth. here?

厭氧菌有乜地方工作做野ar~....我地講緊既係大約60"樓下,reeftank ar Fred哥哥
鬼唔lung 知It will decompose into NH3>NO2>NO3 if the tank is cycled咩~
bio-ball 係比FO 用的~.......所以佢地班FOT大哥大多數no3爆燈~.....你咁講可以話係理論~
但實際上~...........我就覺得唔明wor~

Thx. for your reply la, don't get agitated, I just wanna know why you say that and what's the ground behind coz. I don't get it ar ma. Although I still don't quite get it, can you tell me what's the reading of your NH3 and NO2, assuming NO3 is minimal. If they are both zero, where did they go leir? Skimmed out?

I have a 300L FO tank and have been keeping fish for 7 years. That's why I wanna know more about reef.
