Posted by: Fred Posted on: 2002-05-30 01:24 Hi all, I know this topic has been discussed many many times and I've done the search but it's futile. All I get is Euro Reef is suppose to be the best, is it still true now? Better than H & S and all other brands? I am looking for an external skimmer for a 500L tank. I have an AB reef 500, which has a skimmer in it but I reckon it's not powerful enough coz. it only skims out very little dirt and the water turns sort of light green very quickly after water change. The constraint for me is I only have a foothold of 6" x 7" next to my sump. Height is not a problem and it should, preferably, come with a submersible pump as well. Price is not a big concern as long as it worths it. Thx. Fred

Posted by: Kenny Posted on: 2002-05-30 13:47 I'm searching for a skimmer as you before. I want to put it into a chamber of my sump which is 7.5". I think Euro Reef is still the best but it is not suitable for my case. :( H & S is also a good brand, however, it is too big also. Finally, I got Schuran and Aqua-C from Aquatech which are suitable in my case. I chose Schuran Jetskim 100 which stated for 500L (you can equip it internal or external as you like).

Posted by: Fred Posted on: 2002-05-31 05:09 Thx a lot Benny, I didn't realize there is a special section for skimmer. How's your Schuran working? Can you tell me the address of Aquatech? Why is Euro Reef not suitable for your case? Thx. iczfirz for your comparison. In your own opinion, do you think H&S is good? Thx. Fred

Posted by: Kenny Posted on: 2002-06-01 01:00 Fred, The performance of my Schuran is accepatble. The footprint of Euro Reef is too big that I can't place it into the biggest chamber of my sump. The address of Aquatech is the building just between 華潤 & 新鴻基 in Wanchai. Its entrance is facing to Gloucester Road.
